Welcome to the Rising Sun

A warm welcome from Ray and Mary to the Rising Sun, our traditional bar and restaurant.
We are located right on the edge of one of the most exclusive areas of London yet less than ten minutes walk from Victoria and Sloane Square underground stations. Despite the upmarket location we have managed to strike a happy balance between catering for the businesses in the area and becoming the 'local'  for residents in the Victoria / Pimlico area.
It has been said that from the outside this Young's pub looks like a 1960s suburban family house. However, keeping in tune with the area  we have an appropriately tasteful interior, subtle lighting, stained floorboards and Victorian prints on the wall.
Our evenings can often be quite lively, especially on a Thursday or Friday night, with the mixture of customers making the pub, we think, one of the better venues in the area.

Ales

The Young's range of draught and bottled beers of course and also at least one guest beer.
We have a good selection of quality wines.
A full range of spirits and soft drinks.
Tea and Coffee not a problem.
We are a Cask Marque accredited, ( that's the independent body that monitors the quality and dispense of ale in British pubs. Each pint is tested for temperature, appearance, aroma and taste and all pints on sale to the consumer must pass. )

Food

For 2013 we are delighted to have Urban Kitchen on our team. They've taken over the kitchen to allow us to now offer a fantastic and even more comprehensive range of food. From bar snacks to 'lite bites', canapes, bowl food to four, five or even six course 'fine dining' menus. Also we feature frequent 'specials' ( see our blackboard ) to keep the menu varied. Our menus are purposely reasonably priced, aimed at making it the place for visitors, employees of local businesses and residents of the area to spend their lunch times and evenings.

Our kitchen is now open 12.00 until 22.00, Monday to Sunday!

All our food is prepared fresh in our kitchens and we are proud of our consistent quality and presentation.

We have been rated five stars by 'Scores on the Doors', the No. 1 national food hygiene rating scheme and approved by City of Westminster, ( our borough ) and that was before our kitchen refurbishment!

Buffet, Party Food and BBQ hire are available for private functions.

If you are in a hurry or have limited time ( lunchtimes ), you can book a table or pre-order a meal.

Function Room

Our Function room is free to hire and is perfectly suited as a venue for that birthday party, works gathering or a relaxed meeting.
A separate ground floor function room with its own bar and access to the patio catering up to 25 ( or more if using the patio area ) people for dining and functions or up to 80 for meetings / private hire.
If you are a smaller group we can reserve areas / tables in the main bar or the function room ( if not already booked ) to accommodate you.

Outside

At the rear of the building there is our sheltered, ' all year round ' heated patio ( we do BBQ`s on Saturday evenings during the Summer months ). See the What's On page for the next one..
It can also serve, if necessary, as a overspill area for dining or as a leisure area for our function room.
You will also find several benches and tables both sides of our main entrance at the front of the building, with wall heaters, and when necessary protection from the elements by awnings.

Also we have a decent sized telly for those important matches, normally with the sound off so as to not inconvenience other customers, but there are times...

Attention Walkers and Cyclists! We are a refilling station for tapwater.org so stop by and we'll fill your water bottles for free.
We have a dartboard! Also crib, dominoes, trivial pursuit and other games are available on request.
We welcome well behaved Dogs ( and owners ) in our Dog Friendly Pub ( bar area only please ).
